Senior Program Manager

 

The Position

Are you equally comfortable writing requirements and designing architecture? Can you balance the pure with the practical? Have you run onshore/offshore development projects?
This role requires working directly for the CEO to implement, refine and deliver our SharePoint 2010 strategy and echo for SharePoint roadmap.
You will lead small cross functional teams from design through to delivery. You will be accountable for driving the entire product lifecycle, from specification, coding and QA to release. You will not be afraid to be a contributor as well as a manager when the situation arises
You will be adept at communicating with CEO’s, developers and architects alike. This position involves regularly communicating project status and trade-offs to management, Microsoft stakeholders and team members on and offshore. Cross-team coordination, project management and presentation skills are essential.
This is not just a job; it’s an exciting critical role where stock options are expected to be issued to you.
Some International travel to our offshore development centre is expected in the first 3 months.
Our location preference is our downtown Seattle Office in the USA. However this role can easily be run out of our Australian office and a visa will be organized for the right individual, who is also a US or an Australian citizen.

Requirements

 A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems; Business or equivalent experience
 At least 4+ years background as a developer of enterprise-class .NET solutions on the Microsoft technology stack using Visual Studio;
 4+ years defining projects, collecting requirements, writing detailed functional and test specifications, coordinating efforts to scope, schedule, and deploy new features sets; communicating results.
 Essential: 2+ years working with Microsoft SharePoint 2003/2007; including use of the SharePoint API’s and web services and an understating of how to Administer SharePoint.
 Experience collaborating planning and integrating with a second development team in a remote location on a different time zone.

 On project experience with both full SDLC methods and more agile methods such as scrum. An understanding when to use which methods gained from experience.
 3+ years Experience using patterns and frameworks to build successful architectures. Exposure to Microsoft Windows Communication Framework (WCF) Web Services Programming and Service Oriented Architectures.
 Experience with SQL Server 2000/2005, transact SQL and Database Design, IIS and Networking Knowledge.
 Strong User interface prototyping skills for thick clients and web clients and an understanding of current web 2.0 technologies and trends.
